Life in the PI

We're almost on our 1 month mark here in the Philippines.  That one month went so fast but it feels like a lot of things have happened.  It was both exhausting and exciting, from looking for apartments to finally getting settled down.  I also tried applying to a full time job in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, I applied as a researcher in the operations department of the military.  It's really a good job to start with and to gain experience from, I got the job but I decided not to take it.  Jesse and I realized that the pay and the hard work that I will be putting to it is not worth it.  I was supposed to be working from Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime (but no pay), that means I will have no more time to take care of Aidan.  My time with Aidan is more precious than anything else.  I really prayed hard for my decision regarding this job, I didn't want to miss this great opportunity but as what my boss in that position told me taking care of my family is the first and best job that I have.  I am really grateful to be a wife and a mother even though most people thinks that I am missing a lot of great opportunities because of it. I will never ever exchange these wonderful callings that I have for anything in the world.  I decided that I will wait for a few more months before I will start applying again, I believe that there are still a lot of great opportunities waiting for me.

Right now, we are trying to figure out things concerning Jesse's schooling here and also the processing of his visa since he is still on a visitor visa.  Over all things seems to be working out good over here and hopefully it will continue to be like this.

Here's some of the pictures that we had during our vacation in Texas.

Brand New US

Tons of new things happened to our little family.  We are now doing and will be doing things that we have never imagined and planned a year ago.  We moved from Hawaii to the Philippines and we are now starting another chapter of our life.  Though we closed the biggest chapter of our little family, we will never ever forget all the great adventures that we had in that special place.  Hawaii will always hold a special place in our hearts and it will always be a "home" to us especially to Aidan.  We had our highest and lowest points in Hawaii but we never regretted anything, we have moved on and it is time for us to start a new life here in the Philippines.

We just moved in to our new apartment last Thursday, October 4, 2012.  Our apartment unit is not big but it is enough for the three of us.  We have a 2 bedroom unit with a small balcony.  Today all of the furniture that we bought came in so now we just have to arrange it.  Tomorrow our AC will be installed together with the lights for our bedroom and then after that we're done and we'll soon be able to sleep there and then totally settle down.  It is both fun and tiring to try to decorate an empty apartment unit, I'm happy we're almost done now and I can't wait to settle down.

We really like the condominium that we got, it is not the ordinary condominiums here in the Philippines.  It is really pretty especially at night.  We have a swimming pool that we can use anytime and also a gym.  Here are some pictures.

That's it for now, I'll try to update more in the days to come :)
